CONOR COLLINS - selected works
Hello,
I am Conor Collins and I am a 3D artist and motion designer. Everything in this portfolio was made entirely in Houdini rendered in Octane, Redshfit, Karma or Vray in linear color space and composited into srgb. I have focused my work around Houdini because of the versatility of the program, its potential for iterative design, and the boundless nature of developing tools in it. I am comfortable with vex coding and every corner of Houdini. My skill set reaches beyond this software into Cinema 4d, Maya, Zbrush, render engines like Redshift, Octane, Arnold and Karma, Marvelous Designer, Metashape, Reality Capture, Syntheyes, Fusion, Resolve, Medium, Substance and highly proficient with all Adobe programs.
Thank you for your interest!

A test to create iteratively different models from a Beauty Jar Generator I built and also testing out the production readiness of Houdini’s internal renderer Karma.
Various PDG simulated raspberries created iteratively. Each drupelet is simulated as if it were an inflating balloon to create the tightly packed organic shapes. Using PDG this setup can be used to make an infinite number of models and images for whatever purposes you see fit.
Procedural beauty product jar with procedural UVs made to be used by artists
The profile curves of the jar to demonstrate how the jar is built and how you can effect its shape, size, curvature and every possible dimension
Retimed and KineFX driven animation for a denim company
I had very little experience with vray and wanted to test it out inside Houdini. Using a prebuilt setup I got up to speed with the renderer in just under a day.
Fluid (FLIP) simulations and velocity fields focused on design, procedural UVs, lighting and color
Various packaging and designed scenes, modeled in houdini and Moi, textured using substance, photoshop and houdini.
Ad spot for FIGs - simulated cloth, tracked and composited into background plates
Process - Design of a product image logo built to be both a still image and animation.
Applying motion effects on top of geometry but keeping stable UVs
